Using your own voice can be one of the most powerful ways you have to bring about your own healing and to take charge of your healing journey. You do not have to be musical in the conventional sense of the word, nor do you need to have any musical training in order to benefit from the vibrations set up by using your own voice. Humming has been proven to be beneficial for sinus and breathing problems and also in boosting the immune system. Humming stimulates the body to produce the chemical nitric oxide which is especially beneficial for strengthening the body’s production of antibodies. Singing is well known for lifting your mood and bringing joy. This is especially true if you sing with a group of people, but if you are not confident that you could join a choir or other group of singers, sing in your car, the bath, the shower or anywhere you feel comfortable.
